News / Vertas apprenticeship programme launch

Vertas

Vertas has partnered with Inspiro to deliver an innovative and leading apprenticeship provision for their complex and diverse facilities management business. Operating across Great Britain, Vertas has over 4,000 colleagues providing services in cleaning, catering, security, energy management, property management, equipment maintenance and much more.

For Vertas, a key driver was to work with an apprenticeship provider that could support the complex nature of their operations across multiple roles and in a wide range of settings. With Inspiro’s understanding of varied business models, our apprenticeship business has a reputation for delivering bespoke apprenticeship programmes operating in such diverse environments.

Another of Vertas’ aims was that they wanted their apprenticeship programme to reflect their commitment to providing colleague development opportunities and long-term career progression. We worked in collaboration with Vertas to develop the ‘Vertas Academy’; a tailored development programme that offers professional apprenticeship training to all colleagues. Having launched in April 2021, the ‘Vertas Academy’ offers their colleagues the following apprenticeship programmes:

  • Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner
  • Level 3 Customer Service Specialist
  • Level 3 Business Administrator
  • Level 3 Business Administrator
  • Level 5 Operations/Departmental Manager
  • Level 2 Production Chef
  • Level 3 Senior Production Chef
  • Level 4 Head of Kitchen Manager (Hospitality Manager)

The programmes have been adapted to meet Vertas’ requirements, ensuring a fully tailored solution that equips their colleagues with the knowledge and competencies required throughout their varied business. For example, the Level 3 Team Leader and Level 5 Operations/Departmental Manager apprenticeship programmes benefit from bespoke workshops that relate directly to Vertas operations; contextualising the learning to apprentices’ job roles and service sector. Likewise, for the Level 5 Operations/Departmental Manager apprenticeship, learners attend Call of the Wild training sessions; a unique outward-bound experience where apprentices participate in a structured programme of adventure and challenge, allowing them to explore and develop personal and team skills. Running alongside the standard Level 5 Operations/Departmental Manager apprenticeship modules, we have also incorporated Vertas ‘Aspire to Inspire’ initiative which forms part of the group’s internal leadership pathway.

Training is delivered through Inspiro’s team of occupational experts, on a 1-2-1 basis, together with best practice apprenticeship teaching methodologies to provide Vertas and their learners with the optimum apprenticeship delivery model.
